About Us...

What to expect

Farmer Stan has been working along side some of the top local farmers in the Baltimore & Carroll County area for over 50 years. This allows us to carry nothing but the best!

During the spring, our selection of annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, roses, herbs & vegetable plants is like no other. We also carry a variety of fruit bearing bushes, nursery stock, tropicals, succulents and cacti.

In the summer months our produce is picked fresh daily. Strawberries, tomatoes, sweet corn, asparagus, potatoes, peppers, onions, watermelons and cantaloups are just some of the items you will find.

When the fall season arrives you will find a large assortment of pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks, gorgeous locally field grown mums and fall decor. Don't forget to bring the kids to our Fall Festival on the weekends!

We also carry a wide variety of jarred good, as well as home & garden decor. There is a little something for everyone!

The History of Farmer Stan's

Farmer Stan has always had the love for farming in his heart. He started out at the age of 11, working on Weber's Cider Mill Farm picking beans, peas and strawberries. Through this experience he grew to love the ways of farming and knew that this was where he belonged. The Weber's introduced him to the world of roadside farm marketing which was when he discovered his passion for retail.

In 1976, at the age of 21 he began working for the Baugher's family. After almost 10 years of working along side one of Carroll County's most well known farming families, Stan decided to branch off into the Upperco/Boring area where him and his wife Kelly opened Spring Meadow Farms in 1986.

After 24 years, he made the decision to retire from The Meadows. His "retirement" lasted for a few years before returning right back where he started. Here at SMF we believe that God has a plan that is much greater than ours and it seems that his plan was to place Stan back where the community needed and wanted him most. If you have met Farmer Stan, you know he has a gift for supporting local, bringing the community together, while sharing his love for farming and music, and spreading the good word throughout our community.
